Pontiac G6, the New Grand Am

General Motors manufactured the Pontiac G6 in 2004 as a replacement for the Grand Am model. Yet, the name Pontiac G6 means the sixth version of the Grand Am model. Therefore, the Pontiac G6 is really more of a continuation in the series of Pontiac Grand Am model than a total substitute. The Pontiac G6 design is done in a conservative manner that the appearance of new parts such as the Pontiac G6 mirrors, headlights, taillights, bumpers and the like still resemble its predecessors’ car parts.

The Pontiac G6 is set with power locks, mirrors and doors to ensure safe driving. For added driving safety, all Pontiac G6 models have front airbag systems while the newer Pontiac G6 model has an improved crash system by utilizing side airbags features. The Pontiac G6 front airbags system obtained an overall good rating in the frontal offset crash test.

For guaranteed driving comfort, the Pontiac G6 is equipped with a power driver’s seat, split folding rear seat, good air-conditioning system, eight speaker stereo system, high-quality cloth seats with six-way adjustments and remote car start.

The marketing strategy used for the launch of the Pontiac G6 was through a publicity stunt done in a well-known talk show in the United States and probably the whole world. During the market release of Pontiac G6 in 2004, 276 units were given away to the audience of The Oprah Winfrey Show.
